  • 1991-present:Zoologist and Curator at Museo Regionale di Scienze Naturali, Torino, Italy.
  • 2009: He obtained the Sabin Award for Amphibian Conservation by IUCN and Amphibian Specialist Group
  • 2007 onwards: Member of the Scientific Committee of the WWF Italia.
  • 2004 onwards: Chair for Madagascar of the Amphibian Specialist Group / IUCN (formerly DAPTF).
  • 2004-2005: Charged by Nando Peretti Foundation, Istituto Oikos, and National Amphibian Conservation Center to carry out a research on the "Status and Conservation of Scaphiophryne gottlebei, Mantella expectata, Mantella viridis, and Mantella bernhardi".
  • 2002-2003: Charged by DAPTF/IUCN to carry out a research on the "Status and Conservation of Mantella cowani". This research was financially supported by a grant from DAPTF, WCS USA, and National Amphibian Conservation Center (NACC).
  • 2000-2001: Charged by Dipartimento di Biologia di Roma, (Italy), and Environmental Ministery, to make a research on Pelobates fuscus insubricus and Salamandra lanzai (project Monitoring of the Conservation Status of the endangered amphibians and reptiles of Italy).
  • 2000: Charged by the Association Europeenne pour l'Etude et la Conservation des Lemuriens (AEECL) of Mulhouse (France) for a zoological research in the transition forest of Sahamalaza Peninsula, NW Madagascar.
  • 2000: Charged by the WWF Italy to prepare the Action Plan on Pelobates fuscus insubricus.
  • 1998-2001: Collaboration for IUCN Species Survival Programme (Cambridge) for works of the "CITES Significant Trade Review", referring to Amphibians and Reptiles of Madagascar.

  • April 2002: Invited Professor at the Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle de Paris, Laboratoire des Reptiles et Amphibiens (Prof. A. Dubois) for a study and research on the amphibians and reptiles from Madagascar (through a fellowship of MNHN, France).
